Austin of Bust

Last weekend we drove down to Austin to meet Angie and Ben's new baby, Sam! I have been dying to see Sam since he was born in April.

On our way down we first stopped by Cory and Karri's new house in Cedar Park to see their new baby boy, Gage, who is 10 weeks old. I forgot to take pictures of Gage, but I assure you he was super cute and looked just like Cory. Those Milam genes are really strong! ;)

We then went on to Angie's house. Sam was super sweet and has a ton of black hair! William didn't really care much about the baby, he only had eyes for their dog Lucy. He just loved playing with Lucy and has now been asking for a black dog of his own. Logan was a little more interested in Sam and really curious when Sam would cry. We spent the night in Austin and then headed back the next day. It was a fun little trip!!

Logan's 1st Haircut

Last week I took the boys to get summer haircuts. Logan's hair was getting a little wild, so I figured it was finally time for a real haircut. He did good up until she pulled out the clippers and tried to trim the back of his neck and around his ears.

William's 1st Trip to the Dentist

Last week I took William to the Dentist for the first time. I got a referral from a mom in William's preschool class for a good Pediatric Dentist. William did great and had so much fun. Shoot, I want to start going to a Pediatric Dentist...cartoons, bright colored carpeted walls, 20 different flavors of that polish stuff they put on your teeth, flavored fluoride, prizes and dolphin shaped tooth brushes. He even went by himself with the dental hygienist to get x-rays done on his front teeth.

Turns out he has a partially dead front tooth, it has been a tad yellow for awhile now. I think he fell and hit it pretty good when he was about Logan's age. The dentist reassured me that it was fine and most little boys have a couple of dead teeth. Good to know!

He also put Logan on the table and examined his teeth too. He said everything looked good and we discussed Logan's love/addiction to the paci. So far there is no paci damage, but after Memorial Day we are going to implement some new strict paci rules. ;) All in all it was a very successful first dentist appointment!

Let Your Light Shine!!!

Monday evening we went to William's preschool Spring Program. This was his first time performing in front of an audience. He did exactly what I thought he would, soaked up the attention and loved every minute of it. He sang "This Little Light of Mine" and really let his light shine all the way through the song. I was very proud of him! After his song he came and sat with us in the audience. During the rest of the program he kept asking me when he would get to go back on stage. Oh, William.

The cutest part of the whole night was when I tried to make him wear his "church shoes" (i.e. loafer boat shoes) to the program so he would look extra spiffy. He threw a huge fit and started crying about how he didn't want to wear the shoes. We went round and round until finally I insisted he put on church shoes and threatened time-out. Then, through the sobbing he said, "But Mom, I can't dance in those shoes! How will I be able to dance in the program!?!" Well, I felt like the biggest jerk ever. Who am I to stand in the way of dancing? I immediately pulled out the tennis shoes and he let out a huge sigh of relief.
