All caught up...

I think I am all caught up on my blogging now. I was trying to get everything done before we move. We will be heading to Houston for Thanksgiving and then back to Waco to close on our house. After that we will be nomadic for a few weeks before we close on the new house in Allen. I probably won't get a chance to update the blog again until mid-December, so check back then. 11 Months

Logan will be 11 months old next week. He is all out walking now. He actually walks more than he crawls. It is so cute to watch his unsteady walk with his hands in the air. He is completely obsessed with balloons and balls right now. He screams when he sees the free balloons at HEB. He can also spot one of those giant bins on balls at Wal-Mart from a mile away. I try to avoid them at all cost. My favorite new trick he has is to pretend to talk on the phone. He holds our house phone up to his ear and babbles away into the receiver. He can also add clapping to his bag of tricks. William was dancing to some music the other day and Logan sat down and started clapping along. My next post for Mr. Logan will be for his 1st b-day, hard to believe we're approaching a year already!

Happy 3rd Birthday William!

William turned 3 on November 20th. This past year he has changed so much and really turned into a little kid. He is so full of life and has such a sweet spirit. He wakes up (way too early) every morning with a huge smile on his face and spring in his step. He still gets SO excited about everything, big or small. William loves people, he has definitely never met a stranger. He also talks constantly and loves to ask questions. Lately he has been very interested in what things eat (i.e. kangaroos, crickets, flies, spiders, cats, dogs, pigs, zebra, dinosaurs, camels and the list goes on) .

William loves all kinds of sports, his latest favorite thing to do is play tennis in the backyard. He is also a big fan of this show on Nick Jr. called Dino Dan. It's about a little boy who loves dinosaurs. Needless to say, he is really into dinosaurs now. Toy Story, cars and building forts out of pillows are also on the list of his favorite things to do.

William definitely has his moments though. Like all 3 year old he likes to push the envelope and see what he can get away with. There have been some issues with William and Logan fighting over toys. It usually ends with William pushing, hitting or dragging Logan away from his toys. On the other hand, he can also be very sweet to Logan. The other day someone at the grocery store asked him about Logan and he said, "Logan is my baby brother and I look out for him."

I am looking forward to seeing William grow and change over the next year. He will be starting a new Mother's Day Out in Allen in January. I worry most about William and all of the change coming up with the move. My prayer for him has been that he has an easy time making new friends in Allen. I think we will also start him in soccer and karate in the new year which will help with the adjustment.

It really does go by so fast and we feel incredibly blessed to have William!

For all you Barbie fans....

I was REALLY into Barbies as a little girl. I had it all...Barbie convertible, dream house, spa, tons of clothes...you get the picture. My mom held onto some of my Barbie stuff and now my nieces play with it. Well, we were over there this weekend and my mom gave William Toy Story 3 for his birthday. We were laughing about Ken in the movie and all of his clothes. My mom went and grabbed some of my Ken dolls and guess what one of them had on. The exact same blue leopard print outfit from the movie! I had heard somewhere that all of the clothes Ken wore in the movie were real outfits, I guess they were right...



We got a pretty good laugh out of some of the Ken outfits I had. My favorite was the faded denim shorts and matching jacket with a hot pink tye-dye shirt underneath. The funny part is, as a kid I don't remember ever thinking there was anything wrong with Ken wearing a blue leopard print outfit and loafers or hot pink tye-dye.

Did I mention we were moving....

There is a really, really long story behind all of this, so when I have more time I will fill in all of the gaps. We are moving to Dallas, technically Allen. Jonathan will be doing the same thing he is now just in a bigger territory and market. We close on our house here in Waco on November 30th and then hopefully close on our new house in Allen the second week in December. Yes, we will be homeless for part of the holidays (Homeless for the Holidays would make a great title to a Lifetime movie). The movers are coming to pack our house up on Saturday and then load the truck on Monday. So much to do, so little time!

Whoop!!

We went to the Texas A&M vs Nebraska game Saturday night thanks to my cousin Lisa and her husband. They have a suite on the alumni side of Kyle Field so we got to watch the game in style! On top of that, Clay (brother-in-law) is a former football player and Letterman so we got to hang out at the Letterman's Club before the game (free drinks!). Then Jonathan and Clay had pregame field passes so they went down on the field before the game to watch the players warm up. They managed to stay on the sidelines until almost half-time before someone noticed that their passes were only for the pregame festivities.

If you watched the game, you know how it ended...A&M won in one of the most exciting games I think I have ever been to. The students stormed the field, which never happens at Kyle Field. Now we are positioned to possibly have a run at the Big 12 Championship...so exciting!!

My Trip to NC

A few weekends ago Christie and I flew to Winston-Salem, NC to visit our good friend from high school, Kelley! Kelley and her husband John had a cute little girl, Mia, at the end of August. We had so much fun meeting her!!

It was great getting to hold and cuddle a sweet little baby and then give her back to her mom when she started crying. We flew in late Thursday night and then spent Friday just hanging out and catching up. It's so much fun hanging out with old friends, it's like nothing has changed.

Saturday we hit up the world famous Lexington Bar-B-Que Festival. We got a lesson in North Carolina BBQ...BBQ in NC is only pork, they serve it as pulled pork with cole slaw on top in a bun. Fun Fact: West NC makes ketchup based BBQ sauce and East NC makes vinegar based BBQ sauce. The food was really great, I also had my first fried Oreo and fried Reese's...mmmmm! Mia was a huge trooper. We then flew home on Sunday.

Jonathan wins the Dad of the Year Award. He stayed home with the boys by himself for three days while I was gone!! He did a really great job, I was so proud of him. I did leave him 3 pages of instructions and meal options, he kept telling me to set him up for success.

Funny Story: While I was gone Jonathan took the boys to church on Sunday by himself. I was super impressed as were all of the church ladies. He didn't know that I usually pack a bottle for Logan to drink during his stay in the nursery, so I guess the nursery workers gave him a sippy cup and snack to hold him over. Well, the sippy cup spilled all over Logan. When Jonathan went to pick him up after church, all he had on was a diaper and shoes! Jonathan said he got the funniest looks as he walked through church to the car carrying a baby only wearing shoes.

Another Funny Story: Sunday night when I came home William had some major tummy issues. I started asking Jonathan if he had any symptoms of a virus and he said no it was probably just a long weekend. Then William spoke up, "Yeah, we ate Chick-Fil-A, McDonald's and donuts!" He was better after a few days.

10 Months

Logan was 10 months old last week. He is growing like a weed and went through a major growth spurt. I took him to the doctor 3 weeks after his 9 month check up for a follow up on the ear infection and he had gained over a pound! I guess he is just a late bloomer. :)

His favorite past times include: scrounging for scraps under the kitchen table, climbing on EVERYTHING and playing with William outside. He also has a bunch of teeth, all but 4 of his teeth are in already. Logan is getting closer to walking every day. He experiments with baby steps, but he usually bites the dust. I know he is just dying to keep up with William.

Logan has started waving which is really cute. The other day he kept waving at this elderly couple sitting at a table next to us at Panera. He will also say Boo occasionally when we play peek-a-boo and loves to do raspberries.

Funny Story: Logan puts everything in his mouth, I have to watch him like a hawk. The other day I could see he had something in his little fist, so I waited and watched to see if he would try to put it in his mouth. Of course he did and I ran over to intervene. I pried open his hand and a LIVE beetle looking bug ran out!! I screamed out of surprise, Logan started screaming out of anger and William started screaming out delight as he ran after the bug. Classic!

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween last night. William was beyond excited, he didn't fall asleep until 9pm Saturday night (he usually goes to bed at 7:45pm). He then woke up at 6:20am Sunday morning wanting to go trick-or-treating.

William was a cowboy this year and Logan was his cow. William looked like he just stepped off the ranch. I bought him some boots, a belt w/buckle and a pearl snap shirt. My dad has a friend that owns a rope company, so he hooked us up with a lasso, glove and some really great spurs that clanked as he walked. It was so funny, William kept telling everyone..."I am the fastest cowboy in ALL the West!" I have no idea where he got that.

We had our neighbors, Laura, Kary and their little girl Emma over for dinner and then trick-or-treating. Emma was a cute little pink kitty cat. She was a little unsure about the boys and all their ruckus though.

William also loved handing out candy to all the kids that came by. He kept referring to them as customers. I am also very proud of Jonathan and his pumpkin carving skills. He seems to be getting better every year!

Zoo Boo

Jonathan went to Austin this past weekend for a "Guy's Weekend" with some friends, so I took the boys to Houston to stay with my sister. I'm sure it's no surprise, I don't have any pictures or details from Jonathan's weekend, so you will only get to enjoy photos from my trip.

Saturday morning we met my dad at the Houston Zoo for their Halloween celebration, Zoo Boo. The rest of the weekend was packed with family fun!! We came home Monday after stopping to have lunch with my grandmother.

I posted some pictures below, but for some reason they are all out of order. I didn't feel like fixing them, so you will have to use your imagination a bit...

Hullabaloo, Caneck! Caneck!

This weekend we went to the Texas A&M vs Arkansas game at Cowboys Stadium! Jonathan's mom was so nice to come stay with us and kept the boys all day Saturday while we were in Dallas. We had so much fun, even though the Aggies lost.
