Bahamas Wedding Trip

We just got back from our first vacation in over two years. William stayed behind with my mom and step-dad as we went to Harbour Island, Bahamas for one of Jonathan's best friend's weddings (Adam Jacobs). We had so much fun! I won't get into every little story, so here are a bunch of pictures instead...

Here is the picture on Harbour Island from the airplane. It's a tiny island, only about 3 miles long. We had to fly to Miami, then to North Eleuthria, then we took a cab to the harbour, a boat to Harbour Island and then another cab to our hotel. It was quite a journey.

Here is the view off the balcony of our hotel room at Coral Sands...

Here we are with Carter at the Welcome Reception hosted by Adam's parents at the house they rented on the island...

Here is Jonathan in our rented golf cart. (everyone drives golf carts on the island)

Here we are at the rehearsal dinner at the Pink Sands.

We went and picked up Adam the day of the wedding and drove all around the island.

Here are pics from the wedding. They got married at a ritzy resort called Pink Sands (Nichole Kidman was there the week before us). It was a beautiful wedding!

Everyone left the reception dancing to a traditional Bahamian marching band...

The next day we ate lunch with Adam, Shelby and Carter at Ma Ruby's. It's the restaurant that inspired Jimmie Buffet to write the song Cheeseburger in Paradise. The burger was pretty good, just a little different...

We then spent the rest of the day on the beach. The sand on the beach is a shade of pink due to ground up conch shells, it was really beautiful. Jonathan went snorkeling a couple times. I was excited about snorkeling too, until the third shark sighting (one with my own eyes from the beach). I went kayaking instead and read the Twilight book.

Here is the view as we left the island to head for home!

William's First Zoo Trip

Today we went to the Houston Zoo for William's first Zoo trip. Jonathan's sisters and nephews met up with us. William had a lot of fun and loved seeing all of the animals.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
half and hour before the devil knows you're dead.

Rodeo Up

My dad took us to the Rodeo today along with my sister and niece Loren. My other niece, Camryn, and my brother-in-law had to go home before we even made it to the Rodeo because Camryn got sick in the car. William had the time of his little life! He loved the petting zoo. At one point he was so excited, he was running in place. He would just run from animal to animal screaming with delight. He also had a blast on the pony ride and looked super cute up there like a big boy. We had great food and a lot of fun, thanks dad!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow...

The day finally came this week when I had to face the fact that William's hair was too long. The baby mullet was no longer acceptable, so with a heavy heart, I cut off William's golden curls. (sniff, sniff)

I have to admit, he looks a lot better with the new hair cut and looks a lot older.

Lake Tahoe

Jonathan went to Lake Tahoe last weekend for his friend Travis McGinty's bachelor party. They had a great time and best of all, Jonathan's legs did great. This was the first real test of Jonathan's recovery and what a testament to his incredible dedication and hard work over the past year! God has been so gracious and faithful to our family and here are some pictures to prove it....

Yee-Haw

Maryann and I took the kiddos to the Livestock show today with our MOPS (Mothers Of PreSchoolers) group. Our group went as a field trip, so we were lucky to get free tickets and free parking. Here are some picks of the cowgirls and cowboy.
