Happy Easter!!

(Our first Easter as a little family)

This year for Easter we went to Austin to celebrate with my sister's family. We drove up on Saturday morning and met the fam at Hula Hut on Lake Austin.

The Easter Bunny came Saturday night and hid eggs for Loren and left Easter baskets for William and Camryn.

We went to church Sunday morning and then had a huge Easter lunch before heading back to Houston this afternoon. It was a short trip, but we had a lot of fun!

P.S. My brother-in-law, Clay, told me I was slacking off on the blog the past couple of weeks so I will try to step it up and post more often.

4 Months

(William playing in his "Rainforest Jumparoo")

William was four months old today. His check up is on Monday and I can't wait to see how much he has grown since our 8 week doctor's visit. Last week I put together his "Rainforest Jumparoo," it was a Christmas gift from my mom and Tom. This thing is amazing, it lights up and plays jungle music. He was a little overwhelmed when I first put him in it, but now he loves it.

We can tell his motor skills are starting to kick in. He constantly wants us to help him stand and sit. His latest trick is that he learned how to turn on the waterfall soother in his crib. One day I put him down for a nap and out of nowhere I heard the waterfall soother playing on the monitor. It's really cute, he grabs his toes and rolls over onto his side, he then uses his top foot to kick the button that turns on the soother. At first I thought it was a fluke, but he does it all of the time. We hear the soother turn on in the morning when he wakes up. I'm still waiting for him to sleep through the night though. Someone told me it's like a vacation every night when they finally start sleeping straight through. I can't wait!

"Bumbo" Boy

Today I put William in his Bumbo seat and he actually liked it for the first time. I decided to take some pictures because he looked so darn cute.

Family Fun Weekend

(Me, William, Camryn and Clay, my brother-in-law)

Today we ended our family fun weekend by having lunch at my grandmother's house. My aunt, uncle, and cousins had not seen William and Camryn since Christmas. William was the biggest hit with my niece Loren and my cousin Jerry's daughter Leah. They couldn't get enough of the babies. Right now William is the only boy cousin, but not for long. My cousin Jerry's wife Andrea is expecting a little boy in August.

We had a lot to celebrate with Jonathan walking again, my sister moving back to Houston and my cousin's new baby on the way. The highlight had to be Nannie's yellow cake with fudge icing though!

Happy Birthday Nicholas

(Nicholas about to blow out his candles)

Today we went to Jonathan's parents house to celebrate his nephew's birthday. Nicholas is Jonathan's sister Summer's youngest son and he was turning two. It was a beautiful day for a birthday party and everyone had a lot of fun. William just enjoyed watching all of the action.

Walk Like an Egyptian

(Our niece Loren posing with her camel purse)

Friday night we had dinner at my mom and step-dad's house. They just got back from a trip to Egypt and Istanbul. My sister, brother-in-law and two nieces were also in town staying with my mom. They are moving back to Houston from Austin and wanted to look at some neighborhoods and also go to the Rodeo on Saturday.

It was great seeing everyone and hearing all about the Egypt trip. We all got authentic Egyptian souvenirs. Loren got a camel purse that played some crazy Egyptian song. William and Camryn got little stuffed camels that play a different crazy Egyptian song. Jonathan and Clay (brother-in-law) got Pharaoh bottle openers and my sister and I got bracelets that spell our names in hieroglyphics.

William didn't really know what to think when we got there. I think he was a little overwhelmed by his girl cousins and all the commotion, but he warmed up to it after awhile. He really is a little trooper!

Date Night

Last night my friends Angie, Megan and Caroline babysat William so we could go out to dinner just the two of us and celebrate Jonathan walking. I know William had a blast having three people giving him constant attention! We had such a wonderful time. We ate dinner at Truluck's and had a great surprise when the waiter delivered a bottle of champagne to the table. Jonathan's friend Adam knew about our dinner plans and called ahead to have champagne for us to celebrate Jonathan's new legs. We then went to Cheesecake Factory to meet our friends Viviana and Bobby to have dessert. It was a fun night and really meant a lot to us!
