Short Waco Update

It's hard to believe, but we have been here 3 weeks now. It's starting to feel a little more like home, but I still feel like we should be going back to Houston soon. I only have a hand full of boxes left to unpack, but I still have a lot of organizing to do. Things are going pretty good here in Waco. Jonathan is settling into his new job, William LOVES Mother's Day Out now and I went to my first doctor's appointment with my new doctor last week. We have tried a couple of churches here and have one more to try before we make our decision. People here are really nice and there is definitely a refreshing smaller town feel. The weather is also a major plus, much less humid. We miss our friends and family in Houston, but we do feel like this is where God wants us to be. Although we're still not 100% sure yet why he picked Waco. Oh well, if I've learned anything from the past two years it's that God and time will tell all! :)

Mother's Day Out Update

William went to Mother's Day Out today without crying! He cried a little bit on Thursday and made me carry him into the church. Today he walked in on his own carrying his lunch box. One of the perks of living in a college town is that the preschool teachers are college students. They're not worn down by the world yet and seem to enjoy playing with the kids.

First Day of Mother's Day Out

William had his first day of Mother's Day Out on Tuesday. I knew it would be hard for him because of the move and everything, but nothing prepared me for the display he put on. We had been talking up "school" for awhile and he was really excited about his new backpack and lunch box. Then I told him he would be there all day for lunch and nap time and he lost it. He ran to his room crying. He calmed down when we got in the car and was fine walking into the church, but then we got close to the children's hallway and he threw himself down on the ground screaming. I had to laugh at myself as I wrestled him (keep in mind I'm over 5 months pregnant right now)into my arms and carried him down the hall with all of his stuff. He tried to run away when I set him down to put his name tag on and I had to chase him down the hall. I'm sure people were like, who is this girl and what is wrong with her kid. I handed him over to the teacher and went home to unpack. Anytime the phone would ring, I would hold my breath and pray it wasn't the church.

The good new is, when I picked him up he was as happy as ever. He received a great report from the teacher and took the longest nap out of all of the kids. He made a cute little picture which I planned to take a photo of him holding, but he ripped the googly eyes and button nose off of it before I could get the camera. Jonathan and I pumped him up and told him how proud we were of him, he even got a special treat (candy) for going to "school." Tomorrow (Thursday) will be day number two of MDO, so I am praying the drop off goes better than day one!

New House

We moved into our new house in Waco this weekend. We are really excited about the new house and already met our new neighbors who were all very nice. It definitely feels a little more country where we are and has a small town vibe. This morning William was standing at the back window yelling, "Balloon, Balloon!" Sure enough there were two hot air balloons in the distance.

We also went to the local Target, along with all of the Baylor kids and their parents to buy a few things. We decided to get William his first Hot Wheels race track and set of cars. He has been really into little cars lately, so he was super excited about his new toy. He sat in the playroom and played with the track for almost an hour.

The best part of the weekend was stopping in College Station on our way back to Houston to eat lunch at Koppe Bridge. Oh to be in college again! I told Jonathan I am really going to start praying that William and new baby go to A&M so we can have an excuse to visit College Station more often. It's hard to believe that about this time 10 years ago I was moving into my dorm room as a Freshman.

Anyways, we are back at my mom's house again for another week. Jonathan doesn't finish up work in Houston until the end of this week. I can't wait to get back to our new house and finally feel settled. We have been living the gypsy lifestyle for far too long. William will start his new Mother's Day Out on September 1st, which is the same day Jonathan starts his new job. It will be so nice to have some kind of routine back in our life.

It's a Boy!

We went to the doctor yesterday for my 20 week check up. It was very obvious in the ultrasound that we are definitely having another boy and most importantly the baby looked healthy. I am so excited for William, I'm sure he will love having a little brother to play with. We haven't picked out a name yet, so if you have any suggestion let me know!

Circle the Wagons....We are Heading North

Jonathan has accepted a new position with his company and we are moving to the booming metropolis of Waco! We will actually be living in Woodway which is a nice suburb of Waco. My sister had the idea for us to put a post on this really popular Texas A&M sports website, TexAgs.com. We went to the Central Texas forum and asked people where we should live in the area. We have had almost 400 people look at our post and about 30 have replied. The information was really helpful and the driving force behind us picking Woodway. Jonathan will actually be working in Waco, Temple and Killeen, but primarily Waco.

We have been up there twice, the first time my friend Angie and her husband Ben kept William for us. The second time we took him with us to find a house. We found a great new house in a nice master planned community with a pool, walking trails and golf course. The only thing I don't like about it is the lack of trees. The older houses had beautiful trees, but we didn't like any of the floor plans. We already had our house on the market in Houston because we were trying to move to Kingwood. The day Jonathan called to accept the position in Waco, I got a call from our real estate agent saying that we had a contract on our house. We close on our house next week and plan to move to Waco the weekend on August 21st.

I am sad to leave Houston and all the plans we had for next year. William was enrolled in a cute Mother's Day Out program, I was going to be the coordinator of my MOPS group, I love my Doctor and hospital where I was to deliver the baby and so on... I have faith that God has better plans for us than we have for ourselves, so here we go! If anyone is traveling on I35 and looking for a place with clean restrooms and cheap snacks, stop on by.
