Thank you God for...

After we say our prayers at night with William, I always ask him what he wants to thank God for. Most of the time it's his toys and sometimes Logan, but tonight he picked something new. He said, "Thank you God for socks!!" I said, "you want to thank God for socks?" He smiled really big and in a very enthusiastic voice said. "Yes, Socks. Amen!" I was thinking about it later and it made me smile. How often do we just focus on the big things and forget about all the wonderful little things God gives us, like socks.

2 Month Check Up

We went to the pediatrician today for Logan's two month check up. He was 12lbs 7oz and 23.25 inches long. He was exactly 50th percentile for height and weight. Logan received a clean bill of health which is always a huge blessing and then got 6 immunizations! I always hate when they get so many shots, it makes for a very fussy baby. Logan is built exactly like Jonathan, just a much smaller version. I thought William was kind of built like Jonathan until I met Logan. He has Jonathan's head, ears and long torso. The pediatrician told me Logan had the body of a swimmer. Hmmm...maybe Jonathan missed his calling. ;)

He is doing much better these days, mostly because I started letting him sleep on his tummy during naps. The pediatrician was not keen on me doing this, but he said as long as I'm checking on him often that he was o.k. with it. For those of you without kiddos...babies are suppose to sleep on their backs. He is still nursing every 3 -4 hours at night. I'm praying he will start to sleep a little longer soon. Logan is a super sweet baby and such a joy.

William is also doing really well. He still loves Logan and our biggest issue is trying to include William without putting Logan in danger. For example...William likes to give Logan his paci, but he jams it in his mouth. He also has a problem with being a little too aggressive when tickling and hugging Logan. It's really cute when William talks about playing basketball with Logan when he gets bigger and he loves to lay next to Logan on the floor while I read them both books. He also always asks if Logan can take a nap with him in his bed. I am so thankful William has a brother. :)

Snow Day

Yesterday we got over 3 inches of snow! Jonathan went to work in the morning and took William to Mother's Day Out, but then the snow started coming down really hard and everything began to shut down. Mother's Day Out ended after just an hour and a half, so Jonathan picked up William on his way home and we all hung out at the house the rest of the day. The boys went out and built a snowman and William tried to mow the yard. Then our neighbors, Laura and Kari, came over to hang out since everyone was off work. Laura and I stayed inside with Logan while the boys played football and threw snowballs out back. Hopefully it will start to warm up soon, it's almost March!

Visit from the Milam Crew

The Milam family drove up from Austin this weekend to visit us here in Waco. Cory and Jonathan are long time friends as well as fraternity brothers and college roommates. Cory and his wife Kerri have two little girls, Maggie who is 19 months old and Annie who is almost 4 months old. It's really funny to think of how far we have all come. We had a lot of fun, here are some pictures of their visit...

Danilo

Last week we decided to sponsor a child through Compassion International. My sister has sponsored a little boy for many years and I have always wanted to do the same, but I just kept forgetting to do it. I finally got my act together and picked out a little boy in the Philippines.

His name is Danilo. You get to pick the child you want to sponsor based on a picture and information about their background and life. I picked Danilo because he has been waiting over six months for a sponsor. He was also smiling in his picture, most were not, and I loved his name. He is 7 years old right now and the sponsorship goes until he is 22 years old. I am getting ready to mail our first letter to Danilo with a picture of our family. A translator with help him read our letter and then correspond back to us. I think this will definitely be a great learning opportunity for William and Logan when they get older.

Family Update

We have been very busy the past six weeks adjusting to life with an infant. Logan is doing good, we have had some issues with acid reflux and colic, so I have been very sleep deprived. We have good nights and bad nights, but recently the good have been outnumbering the bad. He basically has a very immature digestive system so he is super gurgly and has fits where his tummy hurts.

William is doing great and loves to help with Logan. He is always kissing on him and trying to read him books, tickle him and get in his face.
