Bluebonnet Buddy

(William sitting in a patch of bluebonnets)

We went to Rockport for the first time with William this weekend. I'm sure my dad will have him fishing in no time. In fact, my dad gave William a fishing pole for Christmas this year. I'm think about rigging it up to his bouncy seat this summer. :) We had a great time relaxing at the condo. We found a beautiful patch of wildflowers and decided to plop little William down for a photo op. We had a hard time getting a good pic because it was super windy and bright, but we did get one cute picture.

4 Month Check-Up

We went to the pediatrician this morning for William's 4 month check up. He weighed in at 15.1 lbs (50th percentile for weight) and he was 26 inches long (90th percentile for height). He is still growing like a little weed and loving life. He had lots of smiles for the nurse and doctor. Even after receiving his immunization shots he still couldn't resist smiling at the nurse behind the tears. The doctor picked up William and commented on what a solid baby he is and then gave William an A++ for his check-up! He also said I can stop giving William the Prevacid for his acid reflux and to start letting him cry when he wakes up for his 3:30am feeding. He said to have Jonathan go in the room and pat him when he wakes up to eat instead of me because if William sees me he will want to nurse. I'm looking forward to a full night of sleep for the first time in a long time! We are truly blessed to have a healthy baby, that is something I will never take for granted.

Happy Easter!!

(Our first Easter as a little family)

This year for Easter we went to Austin to celebrate with my sister's family. We drove up on Saturday morning and met the fam at Hula Hut on Lake Austin.

The Easter Bunny came Saturday night and hid eggs for Loren and left Easter baskets for William and Camryn.

We went to church Sunday morning and then had a huge Easter lunch before heading back to Houston this afternoon. It was a short trip, but we had a lot of fun!

P.S. My brother-in-law, Clay, told me I was slacking off on the blog the past couple of weeks so I will try to step it up and post more often.

4 Months

(William playing in his "Rainforest Jumparoo")

William was four months old today. His check up is on Monday and I can't wait to see how much he has grown since our 8 week doctor's visit. Last week I put together his "Rainforest Jumparoo," it was a Christmas gift from my mom and Tom. This thing is amazing, it lights up and plays jungle music. He was a little overwhelmed when I first put him in it, but now he loves it.

We can tell his motor skills are starting to kick in. He constantly wants us to help him stand and sit. His latest trick is that he learned how to turn on the waterfall soother in his crib. One day I put him down for a nap and out of nowhere I heard the waterfall soother playing on the monitor. It's really cute, he grabs his toes and rolls over onto his side, he then uses his top foot to kick the button that turns on the soother. At first I thought it was a fluke, but he does it all of the time. We hear the soother turn on in the morning when he wakes up. I'm still waiting for him to sleep through the night though. Someone told me it's like a vacation every night when they finally start sleeping straight through. I can't wait!

"Bumbo" Boy

Today I put William in his Bumbo seat and he actually liked it for the first time. I decided to take some pictures because he looked so darn cute.

Family Fun Weekend

(Me, William, Camryn and Clay, my brother-in-law)

Today we ended our family fun weekend by having lunch at my grandmother's house. My aunt, uncle, and cousins had not seen William and Camryn since Christmas. William was the biggest hit with my niece Loren and my cousin Jerry's daughter Leah. They couldn't get enough of the babies. Right now William is the only boy cousin, but not for long. My cousin Jerry's wife Andrea is expecting a little boy in August.

We had a lot to celebrate with Jonathan walking again, my sister moving back to Houston and my cousin's new baby on the way. The highlight had to be Nannie's yellow cake with fudge icing though!

Happy Birthday Nicholas

(Nicholas about to blow out his candles)

Today we went to Jonathan's parents house to celebrate his nephew's birthday. Nicholas is Jonathan's sister Summer's youngest son and he was turning two. It was a beautiful day for a birthday party and everyone had a lot of fun. William just enjoyed watching all of the action.
