Easter Carnival

This past Sunday I took the boys to our neighborhood Easter Carnival. Jonathan was in Florida for the Astros spring training camp. As luck would have it, I got really sick the day he left. I have actually been sick pretty much the whole month of March. I had strep throat (I know I picked it up at the pediatrician's office) which caused me to get pink eye. Then a few days after finishing my antibiotics it all came back worse than the first time. I got the pink eye again which turned into strep throat. I had to haul the boys with me to the doctor's office on Friday in order to get another round of antibiotics. If I get all of this a third time I am going to really lose it! I did muster up enough energy to take William to the Easter Carnival for an hour. He had a great time and especially LOVED the bouncy house. Praise the Lord that Jonathan is back now and I am slowly starting to feel better.

On a side note: Jonathan had a lot of fun on his trip. He went to Universal Studios one afternoon, watched two Astros games and came back with a ball signed by a bunch of players. The only ones I had heard of were.... Lance Berkman, Carlos Lee, Milo Hamilton and Wandy Rodriguez.

School Pictures

William had spring school pictures taken at Mother's Day Out a few weeks ago and on Tuesday they gave me the proofs. Usually I am very anti props and cheesy backgrounds, but the school pictures just crack me up. I think it's hilarious how they pose him.

I bought one sheet of this picture (below), I couldn't resist...

Here is the school picture I bought this past October. I sent him to school with a big mosquito bite by his eye and told them not to worry about getting his picture done, but they did it anyways. It made me laugh so hard I had to buy it. I love how he looks like he is about to hike through the Smokey Mountains. It all looks so fake and like something out of the 80's. It was too classic to pass up...

Houston Livestock Show

Last weekend we went to Houston to go to the Livestock Show with my dad, sister and her family. My dad is on the Board of Directors for the Rodeo so we go with him every year. William had a blast...two pony rides, petting zoo, carnival rides, farm animals, tractors and more. My dad bought him a cowboy hat which was super cute. Logan slept pretty much the whole time and was a real trooper. We had a lot of fun!

Thank you God for...

After we say our prayers at night with William, I always ask him what he wants to thank God for. Most of the time it's his toys and sometimes Logan, but tonight he picked something new. He said, "Thank you God for socks!!" I said, "you want to thank God for socks?" He smiled really big and in a very enthusiastic voice said. "Yes, Socks. Amen!" I was thinking about it later and it made me smile. How often do we just focus on the big things and forget about all the wonderful little things God gives us, like socks.

2 Month Check Up

We went to the pediatrician today for Logan's two month check up. He was 12lbs 7oz and 23.25 inches long. He was exactly 50th percentile for height and weight. Logan received a clean bill of health which is always a huge blessing and then got 6 immunizations! I always hate when they get so many shots, it makes for a very fussy baby. Logan is built exactly like Jonathan, just a much smaller version. I thought William was kind of built like Jonathan until I met Logan. He has Jonathan's head, ears and long torso. The pediatrician told me Logan had the body of a swimmer. Hmmm...maybe Jonathan missed his calling. ;)

He is doing much better these days, mostly because I started letting him sleep on his tummy during naps. The pediatrician was not keen on me doing this, but he said as long as I'm checking on him often that he was o.k. with it. For those of you without kiddos...babies are suppose to sleep on their backs. He is still nursing every 3 -4 hours at night. I'm praying he will start to sleep a little longer soon. Logan is a super sweet baby and such a joy.

William is also doing really well. He still loves Logan and our biggest issue is trying to include William without putting Logan in danger. For example...William likes to give Logan his paci, but he jams it in his mouth. He also has a problem with being a little too aggressive when tickling and hugging Logan. It's really cute when William talks about playing basketball with Logan when he gets bigger and he loves to lay next to Logan on the floor while I read them both books. He also always asks if Logan can take a nap with him in his bed. I am so thankful William has a brother. :)

Snow Day

Yesterday we got over 3 inches of snow! Jonathan went to work in the morning and took William to Mother's Day Out, but then the snow started coming down really hard and everything began to shut down. Mother's Day Out ended after just an hour and a half, so Jonathan picked up William on his way home and we all hung out at the house the rest of the day. The boys went out and built a snowman and William tried to mow the yard. Then our neighbors, Laura and Kari, came over to hang out since everyone was off work. Laura and I stayed inside with Logan while the boys played football and threw snowballs out back. Hopefully it will start to warm up soon, it's almost March!
